SurfaceTechnology GERMANY and p2c announces cancellation of Stuttgart fairs on October 2020. The next date is 21st-23rd June 2022 for SurfaceTechnology GERMANY and 5th-7th October 2021 for p2c.

The media, as well as all exhibitors, visitors and companies interested in both fairs will be informed shortly. An FAQ section on the most pressing queries will be released on their website. 

In numerous discussions over the last few weeks the situation had become increasingly transparent: Due to the economic crisis, in which some companies are simply struggling to survive, other topics are prioritized at present over a trade fair participation. The question of health and infection protection also continues to be of central importance. Whether for business or private reasons – a large part of the population reduces travel activities and contacts to the bare essentials. Travelling, particularly on an international level, is difficult. Add to this hygiene concepts and political guidelines for trade fairs, which would have considerably clouded the traditional appearance of the event.

A visitor survey conducted last week was the final reason for the cancellation. According to this survey, 65% percent of the usual visitors to SurfaceTechnology GERMANY have already ruled out a visit or at least expressed doubts about a visit.

Next edition of IFMAC not until October 2021

The next edition of IFMAC, one of the most important trade fairs for woodworking machinery in Southeast Asia, will be held in Jakarta from October 12 to 15, 2021. IFMAC, which was planned for this year in September, had initially been postponed to October 2020. However, due to the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, this date cannot be realized.

Hannover/Jakarta. The next edition of IFMAC, one of the most important trade fairs for woodworking machinery in Southeast Asia, will be held in Jakarta from October 12 to 15, 2021. IFMAC, which was planned for this year in September, had initially been postponed to October 2020. However, due to the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, this date cannot be realized. For this reason, the Indonesian trade fair company Wakeni (PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur) as organizer and Deutsche Messe AG from Hanover as IFMAC partner are now concentrating all their efforts on next year’s event.

“In view of the continuing uncertainty about the lifting of travel restrictions by the Indonesian government due to the COVID-19 situation, we unfortunately have to come to this difficult but necessary decision. IFMAC & WOODMAC is an international exhibition with large participation of foreign companies and attracts visitors from all over South East Asia. All efforts will now focus on bringing the industry’s players together for a strong exhibition in 2021 to support the recovery of the Indonesian furniture industry,” said Rini Sumardi, Director of Wakeni.

The health and safety as well as reliable travel options for all exhibitors and visitors are the most important prerequisites for a successful IFMAC. The extended preparation period until October 2021 enables Wakeni to offer each exhibiting company optimal logistical and marketing support. Trade visitors and buyers can look forward to a well-organized, comprehensive trading and presentation platform to make direct contact with potential business partners again.

In the case of cancellation of events organised by Messe München, exhibitors will be refunded the participation fee already paid. In the event of postponement, the payments already made will be transferred 1:1 to the alternative date.

gamescom asia officially postponed to 2021

asia gamescom | 15-18 October 2020 Suntec, Singapore

gamescom asia, originally planned for debut in Singapore this 15 – 18 October, will officially be postponed to 14 – 17 October 2021.

As optimistic as we were about bringing the event to life this October, we agreed that the world would not be situationally ready for this to happen. For an inaugural event, we felt it was important to give the gaming community and fans the full experience of what an amazing Tier 1 event for the region would be like, and not anything less.

What is especially encouraging is the enthusiasm from our fans, partners, and participants thus far. In our conversation with exhibitors and potential partners, 90% have already confirmed their commitment to 2021, including the Singapore, German and South Korean country pavilions.

Right now, we are exploring ways to spotlight the Asian video games industry virtually to a global audience at gamescom this August as well as digital content formats that can bring together the industry and fans in the lead up to gamescom asia in 2021.

We are also open to collaborating with you on any virtual ideas you might be considering. Please feel free to share your plans with us.
