analytica is postponed—new date in the fall of 2020

March 06, 2020

Due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe and on the basis of the recommendations of the Bavarian State Government as well as of the responsible health authorities, Messe München feels compelled to postpone analytica 2020. This measure is taken in consultation with the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board and in responsibility for the health of exhibitors and visitors. analytica will now take place from October 19 to 22, 2020.

“Under the given circumstances, opening analytica in late March would not be justifiable towards our customers, in particular from a medical and economic perspective,” says Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe München and responsible for analytica. “Now we are looking forward with confidence to host a successful analytica 2020 jointly with the industry in the fall of this year.”

The decision to postpone the event was taken by Messe München in close cooperation with the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board and in consideration of exhibitor feedback received by the industry association SPECTARIS. The vast majority of the exhibitors surveyed recommend postponing analytica. “Postponing it to the new date in fall is the measure necessary to offer manufacturers and visitors an optimal platform for their business, and to build on an-alytica’s previous success,” emphasizes Siegbert Holtermüller, Chairman of the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board of analytica and Head of Sales Europe Life Science of Olympus.

Special lectures and product shows, innovative approaches and theme-specific tours of the grounds and surrounding area are the focus of the planning.

The international applications across all four segments garden living, garden bbq, garden creation & care and garden unique, once again reflect the wide selection of exhibits of spoga+gafa.. Postponement of interzum bogotá 2020 for COVID-19

Due to the recent global situation about COVID-19, the Colombian authorities took the decision as a preventive measure to restrict all public events above 500 people in order to avoid a wider spread of the virus in the country. INTERSCHUTZ postponed by one year – new date in June 2021

INTERSCHUTZ, which was scheduled for June 2020, will be postponed by one year. This is the mutual decision of the organizers and partners of the world’s leading trade fair for fire and rescue services, civil protection, safety and security. The reason is the coronavirus, which directly affects both exhibitors and visitors of INTERSCHUTZ and requires them to be available for duty at other locations. INTERSCHUTZ will now take place from 14 to 19 June 2021 in Hannover.

16 March 2020

Hannover. About three months before the actual start of the event, it is now certain that the next INTERSCHUTZ will take place in summer 2021. “The people who under ordinary conditions would have come to INTERSCHUTZ in June this year are precisely those who are most needed due to the coronavirus crisis,” says Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe AG. “As INTERSCHUTZ, we are part of the industry. With our decision, we therefore take responsibility and provide security in planning”. More than 150,000 visitors from all over the world attend INTERSCHUTZ. However, in times of pandemic, helpers and rescuers are needed to maintain supplies and security. The same applies to exhibiting emergency aid organizations or authorities with security tasks whose capacities are needed elsewhere. But also exhibitors from the industry are directly or indirectly involved in the crisis situation, such as manufacturers of protective equipment, suppliers of digital deployment technology or even vehicle manufacturers whose customers cannot or are not allowed to visit a trade fair in this situation. “We were on an excellent path – and we are aiming for a strong INTERSCHUTZ,” says Gruchow. “Under the current conditions, however, this is not possible. We therefore would like to wish all the players and the entire INTERSCHUTZ community all the best and every strength for the tasks ahead. We will see each other in Hannover in June 2021, where we will have the opportunity to take a detailed and analytical look at the pandemic – and what we can learn from it”.

Postponing a trade fair on the scale of INTERSCHUTZ has an enormous number of organizational consequences. The 29th German Firefighters’ Day will also be postponed until next year: “The synergy between the trade fair and the top firefighters’ meeting is important to us – the postponement is a joint decision,” explains Hermann Schreck, permanent representative of the President of the German Firefighters’ Association (DFV). The most important questions arising from such a postponement for exhibitors and visitors of INTERSCHUTZ will be published in an FAQ on the INTERSCHUTZ homepage. Further questions will be clarified via the usual communication channels.

INTERSCHUTZ has a network of strong partners who have also voted for a postponement and who will now work with Deutsche Messe to set the course for a successful event in June 2021.

Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of the German Fire Protection Association (vfdb):
“vfdb as a strong supporter of INTERSCHUTZ welcomes the decision. As a network of experts for protection, rescue and security, we spoke out without hesitation in favor of postponing INTERSCHUTZ after the latest developments. Especially as organizers of the non-commercial segment of INTERSCHUTZ, we know that thousands and thousands of members of the fire brigades, rescue services and disaster control have been waiting for the world’s leading trade fair with enthusiasm. But we also know that they in particular are sympathetic. After all, they will be facing special challenges in their daily work over the coming weeks and months. Our greatest concern is the safety of the population. The postponement of INTERSCHUTZ is both responsible and appropriate in view of the current situation. We are also aware that even if the situation eases, the numerous exhibitors from Germany and abroad will still need sufficient time for their INTERSCHUTZ preparations. As vfdb, we will use the remaining months to process and communicate this event, which is highly relevant for civil protection. As regrettable as the current, unprecedented situation is, we will learn from it. And INTERSCHUTZ 2021 will undoubtedly be supplemented by a further topic.”

Hermann Schreck, permanent representative of the president of the German Fire Brigade Association (DFV):
“We were very much looking forward to the 29th German Firefighters’ Day and INTERSCHUTZ. However, in view of the development of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, maintaining the operational readiness of the fire brigades and rescue services has top priority for us in all considerations. The planning for the DFV’s large joint exhibition stand and the accompanying events will of course continue at national and international level.”

Dr. Bernd Scherer, Member of the VDMA Executive Board, and Managing Director, VDMA Fire Fighting Equipment:
“INTERSCHUTZ is the future forum for the firefighting technology industry, an industry that produces safety for people. In the current situation, this applies even more – to emergency and rescue services, but also to industry. After all, manufacturing companies also face ambitious challenges in economic terms, for example when proven supply chains are interrupted or production sites are affected by quarantine measures. Fortunately, none of this has yet been the case for manufacturers of firefighting technology. On the contrary: We are still in a unique economic boom phase. Nevertheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, we would like to hold an INTERSCHUTZ trade fair in which all forces are concentrated on what makes this unique exhibition of our industry so special: innovative technology and committed people who are completely dedicated to fire protection and rescue services. We look forward to it – together with you in June 2021!”

Michael Friedmann, Head of Group Strategy, Innovation and Marketing, Rosenbauer International AG:
“As a system provider in fire and disaster control, we have been committed to the safety of people and the protection of society for 150 years. For Rosenbauer, the health of all our visitors and partners, as well as that of our employees, has absolute priority. This is why Rosenbauer stands fully behind the postponement of the fair. We are certain that the industry’s leading fair will be a great success in 2021 as well!”

Werner Heitmann, Head of Marketing Fire Brigades and Authorities, Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA:
“Our INTERSCHUTZ motto ‘We protect you. At all times.’ also means that we are now acting prudently and protecting all those involved in INTERSCHUTZ considering the current situation. We therefore support the postponement of the fair. The majority of visitors at our exhibit have always been fire brigades and aid organizations. As part of the critical infrastructure in Germany, it is essential to protect the emergency services to the best of our ability and not to expose them to unnecessary risks. The rescue forces must be prepared for action. Furthermore, we had planned a very large trade fair team in Hannover – we also have to protect them. Health and life always take precedence over all economic interests and actions of Dräger. In other words, ‘Technology for Life’.”

HALAL HANNOVER – Event postponed until September 2020

In response to current developments regarding Covid-19 (the coronavirus), Deutsche Messe is postponing HALAL HANNOVER. The new time for the event is 11–13 September 2020. As Germany’s first halal trade fair ever, the event had originally been scheduled for 6–8 March 2020.

“Because the health of our exhibitors, visitors, employees and the general public is a top priority for Deutsche Messe, we made the decision to switch to the September date. This change is intended to offer our exhibitors the earliest possible date where they can present their halal-compliant goods and services and generate new business,” says Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board, speaking from the company’s home base in Hannover, Germany.

HALAL HANNOVER represents a new platform for business and professional networking. As a trends-based show for halal-compliant products, the focus is on food and beverages, cosmetics, financial services and travel. The event is rounded off by a three-day conference program, featuring experts from Germany and abroad. While the first day of the trade fair is reserved for trade visitors, the second and third days of the fair are also open to consumers.

“Our thanks go out to all of our exhibitors, whose commitment and trust over the past few months have enabled us to position HALAL HANNOVER in the marketplace,” comments Gruchow. “Sixty national and international companies and more than 40 speakers from different18 nations – that kind of market response makes us highly optimistic about a successful debut event coming up in September.”

IDEM 2020 is postponed until June 2020

Following guidance from Singapore’s Ministry of Health and to address the concerns of all stakeholders about holding IDEM in April 2020, Koelnmesse and the Singapore Dental Association, the co-organisers of IDEM 2020, will postpone the event to Friday – Sunday, 19 – 21 June 2020.

“The health of all IDEM participants is of great importance to us and we are putting their wellbeing first by delaying the event,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd.

“We have much gratitude for the understanding and ongoing commitment from our partners, sponsors, exhibitors and conference speakers, not to mention the participants and attendees that have enabled us to postpone IDEM,” he added.

“In light of the current situation, it is important for us to make decisions in the best interests of our attendees, and we will continue to listen to and work closely with our partners to create a successful event,” said Dr Lim Lii, President of the Singapore Dental Association.

“We are optimistic that the current Covid-19 virus outbreak will be temporary and we believe that it is in the interests of the dental industry to resume businesses as quickly as possible after the present crisis has been addressed,” shared Dr. Lim Lii. “We are committed to standing by our MICE industry to provide the support required, and we believe that Singapore’s reputation as a preferred destination for MICE events remains strong. The health and safety of locals, visitors and industry partners remain a priority and we are working closely with Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd to support the continued success of IDEM 2020,” said Mr Andrew Phua, Director, Exhibitions and Conferences, Singapore Tourism Board.

The 11th edition of IDEM, the International Dental Exhibition and Meeting, was originally scheduled to take place from 24-26 April 2020. IDEM is Asia Pacific’s leading exhibition and scientific conference for dentistry.

Hannover Messe 2020 Postponement

Deutsche Messe made the decision to postpone HANNOVER MESSE 2020 to July 2020 in close cooperation with the Hannover Region Health Authority, the HANNOVER MESSE Exhibitors’ Council and the partner associations VDMA (German Engineering Federation) and ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association).

The Hannover Region Health Authority had strongly recommended that Deutsche Messe follow the advice of the Robert Koch Institute, which includes comprehensive measures to safeguard health when hosting major events. For instance, fever measuring stations at all entrances and not allowing people from risk areas or those who have had contact with people from risk areas to enter the exhibition center. This would have entailed a comprehensive evaluation of all trade fair participants – from exhibitors and visitors to service providers, exhibit builders and catering companies.

Deutsche Messe is unable to implement the proposed measures. In addition, their implementation would impair the staging of the event to such an extent that the event would not fulfill its purpose or would do so only with considerable restrictions for exhibitors and visitors.

Since the health of exhibitors, visitors, employees, and the public is the top priority for Deutsche Messe, the decision was made in consultation with HANNOVER MESSE’s exhibitor advisory councils to switch to the July date.

“With the July date, we offer our exhibitors the earliest possible time slot to present their innovations to a global audience and to initiate business,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Messe AG. “In view of the global economic challenges triggered by the Coronavirus in the first half of the year, the new date offers great opportunities. Thus the world’s most important industrial trade fair can provide important impetus for the global economy at an early stage.”

“The VDMA supports the decision of Deutsche Messe AG. In regards to the current challenges caused by the Coronavirus, postponing HANNOVER MESSE until July is the best possible option,” says VDMA Chief Executive Thilo Brodtmann. “We assume that the situation will calm down in the coming months and that the mechanical engineering industry will then benefit from a reviving business situation.”

“Today’s decision by Deutsche Messe AG to postpone HANNOVER MESSE comes at the right time,” emphasizes Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the ZVEI Management Board. “As an internationally important industrial trade show, its USP is the gathering of people from all over the world. This can only happen if there are no health risks. Furthermore, it is important for the electrical industry to present its products for Industry 4.0, electrification and greater energy efficiency to the public this summer.”
