The analytica 2020 takes place

Many thanks to all of you for your dedicated support for the corona-related postponement of analytica 2020. Today we would like to inform you about some positive developments regarding the trade fair in Munich:

According to the Bavarian Ministry of Economics trade fairs in Bavaria may be held again from September 1, 2020. Therefore, we are looking ahead with confidence and are pleased that the industry will soon be able to make personal contact again. Messe München will restart events with our China exhibitions in early July.

The Munich hotel industry has assured us flexibility in terms of cancellation dates. For example, the „Munich Hotel Alliance“ – an association of the leading hotels in Munich – has adjusted its cancellation conditions for trade fair group contingents for analytica:

  • Existing direct group bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to two months before the trade fair if the trade fair is cancelled.
  • If the free cancellation period has already expired, exhibitors are requested to discuss contract changes individually with the respective hotel.

We are still in discussion with other hotel associations and will inform you as soon as we have achieved similar positive results.

In addition, we would like to inform you that we are currently working together with the authorities on a safety and hygiene concept that will be used at our autumn events. In addition to maintaining distances, traceability of contact persons and general hygiene and health protection rules, this also involves recommendations for stand design and stand catering.

We expect the final requirements of the authorities from mid-June 2020, we will inform you about this in this exhibitor newsletter as soon as possible. Up-to-date information is available on our website www.analytica.de.

For more info, you may also contact Ms. Jackie Diola of ECCP at jackie.diola@eccp.com.

Please note: Due to the postponement of analytica 2020, some dates and deadlines affecting your preparations for the exhibition have changed. This also applies to order deadlines of the exhibitor shop, which will of course continue to be available to you. See deadlines here.

analytica 2020: Bioanalysis for personalized medicine

  • Globally unrivaled exhibition of bioanalysis and biotechnology
  • Forum Biotech: Inspiration and practical tips for the biological lab
  • Expanded Finance Days with focus day on personalized medicine

The world’s leading trade fair analytica provides more comprehensive information about the rapid progress in bioanalysis and biotechnology than any other event does. Know-how for the daily work in the biological lab is to be had in the Forum Biotech in Hall A3. This is also where the Finance Days with the focus day Personalized Medicine take place.

From high-throughput genotyping through revolutionary concepts for cancer diagnostics to characterization of biopharmaceuticals: Visitors to analytica 2020 can look forward to a wide variety of innovations for the biotech and healthcare sectors. “analytica drives progress in bioanalysis and biotechnology by offering the industry a presentation and information platform that is unique in the world,” says Messe München’s analytica Exhibition Director Susanne Grödl. The extensive supporting program at analytica moreover makes it easy for all participants to make new contacts and maintain existing ones.

analytica forums: More efficiency in the biological lab

In the Forum Biotech in Hall A3, there will be insider knowledge for the biological lab presented on the first two days of the fair: The exhibitor New England Biolabs presents a novel genotyping method that creates genetic fingerprints at high throughput—ideal for animal or plant breeding, biobanks, and pharmaceutical research. The Forum Biotech takes up the trend in the pharmaceutical industry towards biotechnologically produced drugs as well. Thus, Brookhaven Instruments will address characterization of monoclonal antibodies using dynamic light scattering (DLS). Agilent, in turn, is going to explain how liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry can be used to examine biopharmaceuticals.

In addition to these and many other lectures in the Forum Biotech, the other analytica forums also provide inspiration for bioanalysts: In the Forum Digital Transformation in Hall B2, visitors will experience a live demonstration of digitalized biological sample preparation, and in the Forum Laboratory & Analysis in Hall B1, Postnova Analytics is going to present the still relatively new technique of field flow fractionation, which is suitable not only for nanoparticles and microplastics, but also for viruses and biomolecules.

Personalized medicine in focus

Due to the great interest in health-related topics, analytica once more invites visitors to the Focus Day Personalized Medicine. It will take place in the context of the Finance Days at the Forum Biotech. Experts from the biotech, pharmaceutical and diagnostics sectors will address the current status and future direction of individualized therapies. Keynote speaker Dr. Dr. Saskia Biskup will open the event with a talk on personalized medicine from various perspectives. She runs a human genetics specialist practice in Tübingen, is the managing director of the diagnostics company CeGaT, and also does research at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research in Tübingen.

Some individualized treatments are already in use, but most concepts are still in the development phase. At the analytica Conference, renowned researchers from all over the world will discuss their latest insights on personalized medicine, diagnostics, and many other areas of modern analytics. The agenda includes sessions on immunoassays and biomarkers, molecular diagnostics of allergies and asthma, clinical mass spectrometry, and the promising technology of liquid biopsy, which detects cancer cells in blood.

Expanded Finance Days: Expert tips on financing

Apart from research institutes, it is mainly start-ups that drive the biotech sector. “Their spirit of innovation is unbroken, but the search for capital remains a challenge,” emphasizes analytica Exhibition Director Grödl. “We have expanded the analytica Finance Days to provide young companies with even more detailed information about financing models, and to get them into contact with investors.” They will start in the Forum Biotech with an opening keynote by Marc Filerman, CEO of the German Accelerators Life Science. On the following day, the event will continue with an impulse talk entitled “From Start-up to Global Player”, as well as panels on financing trends, IPOs and more.

In a word: As the world’s leading trade fair, analytica covers all aspects of modern bioanalysis and biotechnology. Almost ⅓ of the exhibitors offer products and services in the field of biotechnology. Analytica currently features a total of 1265 registered exhibitors, thus already having set a new exhibitor record.

IDEM 2020 to be a digital experience

Image may contain: text

In consideration of the circumstances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisers of IDEM 2020 are moving the event for this edition to an online experience.

Because we value all participants and wish to honour the dental community’s need for continuous education and learning, the Singapore Dental Association, together with Koelnmesse, co-organisers of IDEM 2020, will present the 11th edition of the International Dental Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM 2020) as a wholly digital experience.

“We take the progression of the COVID-19 virus pandemic very seriously and prioritise the health and wellbeing of our partners, attendees and the overall dental community,” says Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. “Accordingly, for the 2020 edition of IDEM, we will adapt it into a digital format, so as to align the event to meet suggestions made by relevant authorities and entities.”

IDEM 2020 will shift to an online platform for this edition alone, permitting participants from across the globe to safely connect, network and engage. The platform will provide exhibitors with the opportunity to showcase their products and solutions and at the same time offer pre-recorded and live streamed conference sessions. Dental professionals can still acquire Continuing Education (CE) Points, verified by the Singapore Dental Council, by viewing pre-recorded and livestreamed educational sessions and lectures.

“Despite the situation we have with a constantly evolving global pandemic, through IDEM 2020 we still strive to connect with the dental community. With this adapted format, we remain committed to provide adequate courses in a safe and responsible manner and are confident that our attendees worldwide will be able to effectively engage, learn, gain valuable insights and qualify for CE points,” says Dr. Lim Lii, President of the Singapore Dental Association.

IDEM 2020 will take place on 19 June to 19 August 2020. Register through this link or contact Mr. Noli nicanor of ECCP at noli.nicanor@eccp.com.

IDEM 2020 was scheduled to take place at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. IDEM will return to Singapore in its established format for the next edition.

TWENTY2X will not take place in 2020

TWENTY2X, the new trade fair for digital technology, cannot take place in 2020 due to the increasingly critical situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hannover. This year there will be no premiere of TWENTY2X, the B2B event for IT decision-makers from small and medium-sized companies in the DACH region. Comprehensive travel restrictions, bans on gatherings and curfews make planning and staging TWENTY2X impossible for organizers, exhibitors and visitors. Furthermore, it is not possible to predict how long these measures will last, since experts agree that the spread of the coronavirus will remain the dominant issue even in the summer months.

Human life and health are top priorities, but the corona crisis is also affecting most industries as well. Declining demand and sales are distressing the economy, resulting in supply bottlenecks, production stops and reduced working hours.

“Times of crisis call for a high level of responsibility, flexibility and pragmatic action. As operators of a global marketplace, we are now assuming this responsibility in the interest of our employees, customers and partners as well as the city of Hannover and the state of Lower Saxony. We will not stage TWENTY2X as planned in mid-June 2020,” said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe AG.

TWENTY2X will premiere from 9 to 11 March 2021 at the exhibition center in Hannover.

About TWENTY2X

TWENTY2X is an annual, three-day B2B event serving IT decision-makers from small and medium-sized companies from the DACH region. TWENTY2X focuses on how IT technologies, applications and business processes drive digital transformation in SMEs. The event features an exhibition as well as a conference and networking. The main topics are business management, security solutions, new tech (including startups), new work, sourcing services, and public administration. More information is available at www.twenty2x.de .

No HANNOVER MESSE in 2020

HANNOVER MESSE cannot take place this year due to the increasingly critical situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. The Hannover region has issued a decree that prohibits the staging of the world’s leading tradeshow for industrial technology. From now until the next HANNOVER MESSE in April 2021, a digital information and networking offer will provide exhibitors and visitors with the opportunity for economic policy orientation and technological exchange.

Hannover. The world of industry will not be able to meet in Hannover this year. Comprehensive travel restrictions, bans on group gatherings and a prohibition decree in the Hannover region make it impossible to stage HANNOVER MESSE. At the same time, the corona crisis is affecting the economy, and the manufacturing industry – HANNOVER MESSE’s core clientele – is already struggling with serious consequences of the pandemic. Demand and sales in German industry are declining, resulting in supply bottlenecks, production stops and reduced working hours for employees.

“Given the dynamic development around Covid-19 and the extensive restrictions on public and economic life, HANNOVER MESSE cannot take place this year,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management, Deutsche Messe AG. “Our exhibitors, partners and our entire team did everything they could to make it happen, but today we have to accept that in 2020 it will not be possible to host the world’s most important industrial event.”

It is the first time in HANNOVER MESSE’s 73-year history that the event will not take place. However, the organizers will not let the show completely vanish. “The need for orientation and exchange is particularly important in times of crisis,” says Köckler. “That is why we are currently working intensely on a digital information and networking plattform for HANNOVER MESSE that we will open to our customers shortly.”

Various web-based formats will enable HANNOVER MESSE exhibitors and visitors to exchange information about upcoming economic policy challenges and technological solutions. Live streams will transport interactive expert interviews, panel discussions and best-case presentations all over the world. The online exhibitor and product search is also being enhanced, for example with a function that enables visitors and exhibitors to contact each other directly.

“We firmly believe that nothing can replace direct, person-to-person contact and we are already looking forward to the time after Corona,” says Köckler. “But especially in times of crisis, we must be flexible and act pragmatically. As organizers of the world’s most important industrial trade fair, we want to offer orientation and sustain economic life during the crisis. We are doing that with our new digital offering.”

Thilo Brodtmann, executive director of Germany’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), said, “The cancellation of HANNOVER MESSE 2020 is an unfortunate decision, but it is the only correct one. The mechanical engineering industry must now concentrate on minimizing the consequences of the pandemic in its own operations so that it can start up again. In April 2021, the engineers will be back in Hannover in full force.”

Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the ZVEI Management Board: “The fact that Hannover Messe 2020 cannot be hosted is a bitter loss, but it is the right decision. For the electrical industry, the fair is the showcase to the world, which unfortunately remains closed this year. So our companies will use the time until 2021 to manage the considerable consequences of Corona. Next year, they will then present themselves with the latest products and solutions for Industry 4.0 and the energy system of the future.”
