IDEM 2020 to be a digital experience

In consideration of the circumstances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisers of IDEM 2020 are moving the event for this edition to an online experience.

Because we value all participants and wish to honour the dental community’s need for continuous education and learning, the Singapore Dental Association, together with Koelnmesse, co-organisers of IDEM 2020, will present the 11th edition of the International Dental Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM 2020) as a wholly digital experience.

“We take the progression of the COVID-19 virus pandemic very seriously and prioritise the health and wellbeing of our partners, attendees and the overall dental community,” says Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. “Accordingly, for the 2020 edition of IDEM, we will adapt it into a digital format, so as to align the event to meet suggestions made by relevant authorities and entities.”

IDEM 2020 will shift to an online platform for this edition alone, permitting participants from across the globe to safely connect, network and engage. The platform will provide exhibitors with the opportunity to showcase their products and solutions and at the same time offer pre-recorded and live streamed conference sessions. Dental professionals can still acquire Continuing Education (CE) Points, verified by the Singapore Dental Council, by viewing pre-recorded and livestreamed educational sessions and lectures.

“Despite the situation we have with a constantly evolving global pandemic, through IDEM 2020 we still strive to connect with the dental community. With this adapted format, we remain committed to provide adequate courses in a safe and responsible manner and are confident that our attendees worldwide will be able to effectively engage, learn, gain valuable insights and qualify for CE points,” says Dr. Lim Lii, President of the Singapore Dental Association.

IDEM 2020 was scheduled to take place at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. IDEM will return to Singapore in its established format for the next edition.

TWENTY2X will not take place in 2020

TWENTY2X, the new trade fair for digital technology, cannot take place in 2020 due to the increasingly critical situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hannover. This year there will be no premiere of TWENTY2X, the B2B event for IT decision-makers from small and medium-sized companies in the DACH region. Comprehensive travel restrictions, bans on gatherings and curfews make planning and staging TWENTY2X impossible for organizers, exhibitors and visitors. Furthermore, it is not possible to predict how long these measures will last, since experts agree that the spread of the coronavirus will remain the dominant issue even in the summer months.

Human life and health are top priorities, but the corona crisis is also affecting most industries as well. Declining demand and sales are distressing the economy, resulting in supply bottlenecks, production stops and reduced working hours.

“Times of crisis call for a high level of responsibility, flexibility and pragmatic action. As operators of a global marketplace, we are now assuming this responsibility in the interest of our employees, customers and partners as well as the city of Hannover and the state of Lower Saxony. We will not stage TWENTY2X as planned in mid-June 2020,” said Dr. Andreas Gruchow, Member of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe AG.

TWENTY2X will premiere from 9 to 11 March 2021 at the exhibition center in Hannover.

No HANNOVER MESSE in 2020

HANNOVER MESSE cannot take place this year due to the increasingly critical situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. The Hannover region has issued a decree that prohibits the staging of the world’s leading tradeshow for industrial technology. From now until the next HANNOVER MESSE in April 2021, a digital information and networking offer will provide exhibitors and visitors with the opportunity for economic policy orientation and technological exchange.

Hannover. The world of industry will not be able to meet in Hannover this year. Comprehensive travel restrictions, bans on group gatherings and a prohibition decree in the Hannover region make it impossible to stage HANNOVER MESSE. At the same time, the corona crisis is affecting the economy, and the manufacturing industry – HANNOVER MESSE’s core clientele – is already struggling with serious consequences of the pandemic. Demand and sales in German industry are declining, resulting in supply bottlenecks, production stops and reduced working hours for employees.

“Given the dynamic development around Covid-19 and the extensive restrictions on public and economic life, HANNOVER MESSE cannot take place this year,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Management, Deutsche Messe AG. “Our exhibitors, partners and our entire team did everything they could to make it happen, but today we have to accept that in 2020 it will not be possible to host the world’s most important industrial event.”

It is the first time in HANNOVER MESSE’s 73-year history that the event will not take place. However, the organizers will not let the show completely vanish. “The need for orientation and exchange is particularly important in times of crisis,” says Köckler. “That is why we are currently working intensely on a digital information and networking plattform for HANNOVER MESSE that we will open to our customers shortly.”

Various web-based formats will enable HANNOVER MESSE exhibitors and visitors to exchange information about upcoming economic policy challenges and technological solutions. Live streams will transport interactive expert interviews, panel discussions and best-case presentations all over the world. The online exhibitor and product search is also being enhanced, for example with a function that enables visitors and exhibitors to contact each other directly.

“We firmly believe that nothing can replace direct, person-to-person contact and we are already looking forward to the time after Corona,” says Köckler. “But especially in times of crisis, we must be flexible and act pragmatically. As organizers of the world’s most important industrial trade fair, we want to offer orientation and sustain economic life during the crisis. We are doing that with our new digital offering.”

Thilo Brodtmann, executive director of Germany’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), said, “The cancellation of HANNOVER MESSE 2020 is an unfortunate decision, but it is the only correct one. The mechanical engineering industry must now concentrate on minimizing the consequences of the pandemic in its own operations so that it can start up again. In April 2021, the engineers will be back in Hannover in full force.”

Wolfgang Weber, Chairman of the ZVEI Management Board: “The fact that Hannover Messe 2020 cannot be hosted is a bitter loss, but it is the right decision. For the electrical industry, the fair is the showcase to the world, which unfortunately remains closed this year. So our companies will use the time until 2021 to manage the considerable consequences of Corona. Next year, they will then present themselves with the latest products and solutions for Industry 4.0 and the energy system of the future.”

analytica is postponed—new date in the fall of 2020

Due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe and on the basis of the recommendations of the Bavarian State Government as well as of the responsible health authorities, Messe München feels compelled to postpone analytica 2020. This measure is taken in consultation with the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board and in responsibility for the health of exhibitors and visitors. analytica will now take place from October 19 to 22, 2020.

“Under the given circumstances, opening analytica in late March would not be justifiable towards our customers, in particular from a medical and economic perspective,” says Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe München and responsible for analytica. “Now we are looking forward with confidence to host a successful analytica 2020 jointly with the industry in the fall of this year.”

The decision to postpone the event was taken by Messe München in close cooperation with the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board and in consideration of exhibitor feedback received by the industry association SPECTARIS. The vast majority of the exhibitors surveyed recommend postponing analytica. “Postponing it to the new date in fall is the measure necessary to offer manufacturers and visitors an optimal platform for their business, and to build on an-alytica’s previous success,” emphasizes Siegbert Holtermüller, Chairman of the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board of analytica and Head of Sales Europe Life Science of Olympus.

IFAT is postponed. New date: September 7–11, 2020

Due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe and based on the recommendations of the German Ministry of Health and the Bavarian State Government, Messe München feels compelled to postpone IFAT 2020. This measure is taken in consultation with the Executive Board of the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board, the conceptual partners and in responsibility for the health of exhibitors and visitors. IFAT will take place from September 7 to 11, 2020.
 
“Under the given circumstances, opening IFAT in May would not be justifiable towards our customers, in particular from a medical and economic perspective,” says Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München and responsible for IFAT. “Now, we are looking forward to host a successful IFAT 2020 in September jointly with the industry.”
 
The new IFAT date is September 7 to 11, 2020.

‘Sustainable Gardens’, the key theme of spoga+gafa 2020

The garden season 2020 of the green industry is in the starting blocks and the customers are spending more and more time outdoors rather than indoors. Although there are still six months to go before the trade fair starts, the preparations for spoga+gafa that is taking place in spoga+gafa are in full swing. Postponement of interzum bogotá 2020 for COVID-19

Due to the recent global situation about COVID-19, the Colombian authorities took the decision as a preventive measure to restrict all public events above 500 people in order to avoid a wider spread of the virus in the country. Starting March 16 government authorities have also issued a restriction on all foreign travelers prohibiting their entrance to Colombia.

These restrictions will be extended for at least two months causing a major impact on the organisation of our events. For this reason in order to guarantee the best conditions for our exhibitors and visitors, we have decided to postpone interzum bogotá 2020.
