From December 1st to 5th, 2021, FOOD & LIFE invites you to Germany’s largest meeting place for food, drink, and enjoyment at the Munich Exhibition Center. In the “FOOD.Start.ups” area, the start-up scene provides exceptional taste experiences. New this year: The start-up product that excites the trade fair audience the most receives the FOOD & LIFE NEWCOMER AWARD.

Home advantage for Bavarian foodies: From December 1st to 5th, 2021, FOOD & LIFE at the Munich Exhibition Center will once again be a reliable meeting place for eating, drinking, and enjoying. In keeping with the current nutritional trends, the fair underlines the importance of regionally produced foods. Products made from local ingredients and regional superfoods play the main roles here. They are produced by traditional manufacturers and imaginative start-ups that provide information on the manufacture of their products and the ingredients used. “FOOD & LIFE lives from the direct exchange with the manufacturers, from seeing, smelling, and discovering new delicacies”, says Claudia Weidner, head of the fair. “At these eventful encounters in the exhibition hall, the products get a story with a personal connection.”

New: Newcomer Award for food start-ups

Munich date pralines with crispy fillings, a Cologne gin rosé made from raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries, organic baking mixes for children’s snacks, or a fermented liquid batter from the bottle for pan-fried dishes: if you stroll in the “FOOD.Start.ups” area of ​​FOOD & LIFE , gets a good impression of the current food trends and market innovations. A special highlight this year: the start-up product that excites the trade fair audience the most receives the FOOD & LIFE NEWCOMER AWARD. Together with the cooperation partner StartinFood, the prize will be awarded on the Saturday of the fair. For the first time, trade fair visitors can vote for their favorites and win one of ten trial packages.

The region on your plate

Clear the stage for Bavaria’s celebrity chefs: Bobby Bräuer, Tohru Nakamura, Shane McMahon, Ali Güngörmüş and Hans Jörg Bachmeier have already agreed and will present themselves on the cooking stage at FOOD & LIFE. What do they have in common? The love for seasonal and regional ingredients makes their cooking skills so unique. At the cooking shows, the chefs can be looked over their shoulders, give one or the other preparation tip and reveal how the dishes turn out very easily. Also under the sign of regional delicacies, the Bavarian Ministry of Agriculture is presenting the products of selected companies in the Free State at large community participation. In addition, Minister of State Michaela Kaniber will officially open the fair on December 1st, 2021 as patron of FOOD & LIFE.

“Mannersache (n)!” And Munich Whiskey Market

Another novelty this year is the theme area “Mannersache (n)!”, Which can be found in the transition from Heim + Handwerk, which takes place at the same time, to FOOD & LIFE. There are various products here that men, in particular, are interested in but can of course be bought, used, or given away by everyone. This includes locally produced craft beers, gin from Bavaria, and, above all, many new barbecue specialties. The Munich Whiskey Market (MWM) is located in the immediate vicinity of the themed area, with a range of over 80 types of whiskey, accompanied by expert advice and Irish specialties. The whole variety of MWM – from single malt to bourbon, from fruity to smoky – can traditionally be enjoyed on the weekend, from December 4th to 5th, 2021.

Feast and Furnish with all your Senses

At Heim + Handwerk, individual dream homes are fulfilled. In five exhibition halls, southern Germany’s largest exhibition for living and furnishing inspires with a variety of furnishing solutions. FOOD & LIFE and Heim + Handwerk will take place from December 1st to 5th, 2021 at the Munich Exhibition Center. In order to make a visit to the fair safe for everyone, access to the fairgrounds is only possible for tested, vaccinated, or recovered persons (proof required). Registration takes place in advance when the ticket is purchased. These are therefore only available online from October: www.food-life.de/ticket .
